The office recently replaced a Brother Multi-function printer with some new Lexmark.. about a week after the fact i noticed my OSX logs i was getting a ton of errors every two minutes that looked like this:
“24/03/09 11:20:05 AM Unknown[24] Client application bug: DNSServiceResolve(Brother\032MFC-9440CN._printer._tcp.local.) active for over two minutes. This places considerable burden on the network.”
this was clogging my logs every 2 minutes for the entire week. Here’s how i fixed the problem:
1.Delete the “Users/YOUR_USER_NAME/Library/Preferences/Brother” folder.
2.Delete the “Library/Image Capture/TWAIN Data Sources/Brother TWAIN.ds” file.
3.Delete the “Library/Printers/Brother/Utilities/ControlCenter” and “Library/Printers/Brother/Utilities/DeviceSelector” folders.
4.Restart computer.
5.Empty your trash.
no more network slow down.
